New efforts are on the rise to increase female presence beyond the traditional roles within STEM-the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. Sheryl Hunter was quoted in the Tampa Bay Business Journal on May 25, 2023, discussing the importance of women gaining more knowledge in these fields to serve their clients better.
“If you’re a business attorney like I am, even when you’re setting up a company, you have to have the knowledge and ability to issue spot, to protect the brand,” Hunter said.
She further discussed how it isn’t essential but will help bridge the gap and to put more of a female presence in the patent world.
